　　1992 年考取華中農業大學碩士研究生，師從于傅廷棟院士，在學習期間提前攻讀博士學位。1997 年6 月通過博士答辯，獲博士學位。畢業后留校任教，主要講授《生物統計學》和《作物育種學》，并繼續從事甘藍型油菜分子生物學和雜種優勢利用的研究。1999年—2000年在加拿大Manitoba 大學分子遺傳實驗室從事油菜抗病基因表達等方面的分子生物學研究，同時學習生物信息學研究方法。2000年—2001年在DNALandMarks 公司（BASF, Plant Science）從事SNP分析工作。2004 年在瑞典SVALOF WEIBULL AB 實驗室完成了隱性細胞核雄性不育抑制基因的定位，同時學習轉基因植物安全檢測方法。2006 年在加拿大MANITOBA 大學植物科學系合作進行白菜雄性不育基因克隆及BAC文庫構建等研究。
